With a comprehensive and resounding "no" by a senior executive of Mercedes-Benz we ruled out a possible alliance between the latter and BMW, whose proposal was to join forces and build better vehicles, saving resources for joint developments. It is understandable because Mercedes has recently ended its relationship with Chrysler, so it is normal to avoid a new adventure no matter the good potential of the idea. Both brands currently have a partnership to develop hybrid engines with GM and Chrysler. The resounding "no" from Mercedes-Benz does not mean that BMW has scrapped his idea, perhaps there are other brands that would be willing to negotiate that could have interesting results in the future.
