Looking more like a large, classy station wagon than a crossover SUV, the BMW X3 was, until Upcoming Cars in 2011, the smallest SUV you could buy in the BMW line. Now the X3 has a smaller brother, the BMW X1, and for Upcoming Cars in 2011 it gets a long-awaited redesign to help set it just a little further apart.
Specifications
The new X3 will be just a bit larger than the 2010 model in addition to the following specs that will help to further set it apart from the incoming X1:
Pricing: Pricing data is not yet available for the new X3 at the time of this writing, but hopefully BMW will see fit to bring the price down a tad from its 2010 $38,850 MSRP.
Engine: A 2.0 and 3.0-liter V4 or V6 engine is expected to power the X3 for Upcoming Cars in 2011.
Fuel Economy: Fuel range should be around 17/24 miles per gallon city and highway.
Acceleration: Zero to sixty miles per hour is accomplished in a brisk 7.2 seconds
Transmission:The X3 will probably keep its six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission options for buyers.
Car Safety Features: Standard safety features includes an automatic brake drying system for the antilock disc brakes, front-seat side airbags, active front-seat head restraints, full-length side curtain airbags, and hill descent control.
Warranty: BMW’s 4-year, 50,000 mile warranty
