Speculation Design: Series 8, the four-door coupe from BMW
BMW four-door coupe
Rumors continue to say that BMW plans to revive the legendary series in one 8 four-door coupe that will compete primarily with the Mercedes CLS, Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera. The new model BMW, based on the conceptual and CS series called GT, or Gran Turismo BMW Series 8. This last name seems to us that is what best fits with the concept of the new vehicle: the most luxurious, powerful and expensive developed by BMW.
The new four-door coupe from BMW was the first vehicle built by the M division, without a variant M. It is expected that the new model is built on a platform based on the current BMW 7 Series, although longer and more sports. The engines available in the new BMW Series 8 will be the new V8 turbo versions and top with a naturally aspirated BMW V12.
When will the new BMW 8 Series? We still have to wait well (and speculate), as the four-door coupe from BMW was not going before the BMW 2010 model BMW 2011.

The offer is valid until October BMW 31, with the clear aim of getting rid of 2008 models, and in a month where buyers prefer not to spend money. More details on the official site of BMW.

Speculation Design: This will be the next BMW Z2?
BMW Z2
BMW is developing a new compact roadster, which will be called Z2. As the relationship between the BMW 3 Series and BMW Z4 roadster, the next BMW Z2 share platform and engines with the BMW 1 Series. It is expected that the BMW Z2 roadster is a compact version of the BMW Z4 in aesthetic terms, while its range of engines would be composed of copies of four-cylinder, four-cylinder turbo power estimated between 120 and 210 hp in the European market. The next BMW Z2 roadster would be released sometime in 2011 or even 2012.
While waiting for the compact roadster from BMW, one artist has created some attractive sketches of the BMW Z2, you can see by clicking on the cut.

Rumor: Possibility of a BMW Z2 based on the structure of the Series 1
BMW Z2
A new rumor has emerged about the possibility of a new compact BMW Z2 roadster from BMW, and the truth is that the small convertible could be a reality by using the platform of the new BMW Series 1.
Speculation that the BMW Z2 would predict a soft hood as opposed to the solid used in the BMW Z4, and a small trunk to house low. It bodes well that would be equipped with a small four-cylinder in-line, which would unattractive for the U.S. market, whose buyers are not yet accustomed to paying for a luxury vehicle with an engine normally aspirated BMW 4 cylinder. It is however a small chance that if the BMW Z2 employs an on-line BMW 4 engine turbo, as it supposedly is developing. Still, the most potent BMW 1 Series convertible is equipped with a turbo six in double line, which would make less attractive the purchase of this new BMW Z2.

BMW executives confirmed the development of a compact electric
BMW
At present, most research and development departments of automotive brands in the world, are developing some kind of highly urban vehicle. BMW is one of the builders to add to this trend, confirming the development of a "micro car" for the city that would be powered by two types of engines. As confirmed by CEO of the brand, Norbert Reithofer, the new compact will provide a combustion engine and electricity. The latter will meet the requirements of a State of California for BMW 2012, which stipulates that all vehicles with hybrid or electric motor must pay travel 200 miles on a single charge. To get an idea of how far the industry is to achieve these figures, we must refer to the new Chevrolet Volt from GM with 40 miles of autonomy, or the Mitsubishi iMiEV which offers 100 miles per gallon.
As announced Reithofer, the vehicle will comply with the regulations of California and therefore necessarily be sold in the United States. It remains to be defined which of the three brands BMW, this car will make its appearance.

Confirmed! BMW working on a turbo I-4
BMW
The stories about the development of a new engine from BMW have been confirmed by the director of the brand in North America, Jim O'Donnell. The new question that arises BMW is whether the same is offered in the U.S. or not? O'Donnell answered the question by stating that "at this moment can not confirm or deny if they come into the country, and that everything depends on the election results and the requirements imposed by the government." Anyway, if you are designing a new engine with good performance and remarkable fuel savings, then this should be offered in the American market.
In the past, BMW was not successful with their attempts to sell BMW 4-cylinder engines, but now with the reputation it has earned the brand and the new economic reality, the probability of market success is acceptable. It must also take into account that BMW owns BMW MINI, and that the results obtained in the country to mark the latter have been very good due to the growing demand for smaller engines. Tii in a new platform and a lightweight BMW 1 Series 4 line with a turbo could be a potent formula for the German manufacturer.

BMW is preparing to shake the category of four-door coupes
BMW four-door coupes
Although there are still items to be defined, and is absolutely certain that BMW will shake the segment of the four-door coupes face specifically andalusia Aston Martin Rapide, Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG and Porsche Panamera. We do not know even the name of the final car, but the options could be limited to Gran Turismo, or GT BMW Series 8 (the best for my taste). Unfortunately, the GT / 8 series definitely will not have an M variant, however being developed and built by the M Division, will have every one of the BMW M genes.
The BMW GT / 8 series will be based on a variant of the sport's new BMW 7 Series chassis and used a lot of carbon fiber in the panels to reduce weight and improve performance. Hope biturbo engine cylinders from eight to ten, or maybe a BMW V12 atmospheric. The BMW GT / 8 series will be released sometime in BMW 2010, so we still have two years of rumors and spy photos.

Rumor: The BMW 8 Series on the way, there will be no M version
BMW 8 Series
With their minds focused on hunting them to the new Porsche Panamera and Mercedes-Benz CLS, the people of the BMW M division of BMW might be working to his own four-door luxury GT for launch in 2010. Based largely on the BMW Concept CS (see below in the gallery), the new platform would be the exotic of the new BMW 7 Series. Under the hood, it is expected a 6.0 liters V12 developed from the V10 fitted into the BMW M5, or a dual-turbo V8 is rumored that could be the next engine of the BMW M5. The people at BMW still insists that despite the huge power produced by any of these engines and chassis lightening to be used, the vehicle will not be designated as BMW M8. Would follow the rule used in the 850CSi mid-nineties, which he never received an M.

BMW cuts production of the 8-cylinder engines and is inclined at least large
BMW
The new BMW 7 Series dazzled in their presentations around the world for its elegance and attraction. Unfortunately, the rate of potential buyers was expected, and this is because the global demand for large engines is no longer the same as a few years ago. It has become so low that BMW claims that could meet them in just four days of production to one shift.
An unidentified member of the supervisory board of BMW said recently: "We are producing the wrong engines. However the trend of production is clear, because in the factory located in central Munich, BMW six-cylinder machines are being replaced by four-cylinder, in a program that runs until 2011. When completed the transition phase, the company will be able to produce annually BMW 560,000 4-cylinder engine BMW.
