The company Lexus, it seems, underestimated the magnitude of consumer demand for its new supercar Lexus LFA, which was presented in October last year on home motor show in Tokyo.
Barely three months after the official debut of leadership Lexus announced that all copies intended for the Japanese market, are sold out, so to stand in line for the supercar in the Land of the Rising Sun makes no sense. For local buyers Lexus will release 165 copies of the model LFA, but only on the world market will do 500 units of the Japanese supercar. Reported earlier that the United States to deal with speculators, buy a car with a view to resale, Lexus has decided not to sell, and rent a supercar in the lease for two years. Upon expiration of the lease holder will be entitled to fully redeem Lexus LFA.
Production of super start in December this year. The model will be completed with 4.8-liter gasoline engine V10 power 560 hp, whose torque is 480 Nm. Rear wheel drive car be equipped six-speed transmission ASG. From 0 to 100 km / h faster model for 3,7 seconds, and "maximum speed" is equal to 325 km / hr.

Noticed how supercars almost always spend most of their lives parked in some carpark, collecting more dust than mileage. Then there are those limited run supercars that double in price as soon as the first owner receives the keys. We have the speculators to thank for that but now in a bid to foil these exotic car speculators, Lexus has came up with the idea of leasing its forthcoming LFA supercar – not selling it – when it hits the market.
Automotive News is reporting that Lexus will only offer two-year leases of its 552hp supercar at a fixed price which has not yet been disclosed. It is only at the end of the two year period that the leaseholders get the opportunity to actually purchase the car, at which point the title would be handed over. As Lexus’ vice president of sales and dealer development Brian Smith tells it, his company wants “people out driving the car and not just parking it in a museum or selling it at an inflated price.”
New LFA’s may be lease vehicles, but all cars will still be able to be individually tailored to the customers and built-to-order begins in December 2010.
In an effort to gear up for the arrival of the LFA, Lexus will reportedly train 15 LFA specialists that will be located at the company’s four regional outposts. It has also been reported that the Japanese automaker will also pay for dealers to receive the special tools and training that will service the vehicles.
If the leasing method works and effectively brings an end to the speculator’s market, expect other exotic car companies like Ferrari and Lamborghini to follow suit.

2010 SC 430 Lexus Sports Car powered by an aluminum DOHC 4.3-liter V8 engine.
0 comments Posted by Qcist at 9:25 AMThe pioneer of the retractable hardtop in the prestige luxury segment, Lexus adds interior technology and exterior enhancements to the 2010 Lexus SC 430.

The rear-wheel-drive Lexus SC 430 is powered by an aluminum double-overhead cam (DOHC) 4.3-liter V8 engine that produces 288 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of peak torque. Power is channeled through a six-speed automatic transmission, enabling the Lexus SC 430 to accelerate from zero-to-60 mph in just 5.8 seconds.
The six-speed automatic transmission employs Shift Logic Control to respond to road grade and acceleration/deceleration activity, holding gears or downshifting on hills to help provide optimal engine power or a braking effect. A manual sequential-shift feature allows the driver to enjoy a more involved driving experience when desired. The 53/47 weight distribution helps deliver optimal balance for confident steering response and impressive agility, aided by standard 18-inch six-spoke wheels with 245/40R18 Z-rated tires. All-season or summer run-flat tires are available as an option. The Lexus SC 430 matches its performance capability with the brand's renowned attention to safety and security.

An array of dynamic electronic features help contribute to safe, precise handling in the Lexus SC 430: a four-sensor, four-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS); Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD); Brake Assist (BA) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with traction control (TRAC). EBD monitors all four wheels during braking and varies brake pressure according to the load on each wheel.VSC helps control lateral traction while cornering on slippery or dry road surfaces by using a combination of throttle intervention and applying individual wheel braking to help control any discrepancy between where the driver is steering and where the vehicle is heading. The Lexus SC 430 was among the first Lexus models to offer the advanced Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) that helps to enhance nighttime visibility in turns and curves.

XM NavTraffic® and XM NavWeather™ services are also available (complimentary 90-day trial subscription). XM NavTraffic informs the driver of current traffic conditions with real-time traffic displays. When traffic problems are detected the navigation system alerts the driver so that the route can be adjusted. XM NavWeather provides near real-time weather conditions as well as spoken and nav-screen forecasts, both based on official National Weather Service data.

The LF-A Roadster’s LEXUS V10 engine supercar Concept.
Lexus will stage the Australian debut of its own supercar, the LF-A Roadster, at the Melbourne International Motor Show on 27 February. The LF-A Roadster goes on display in Melbourne after headlining motor shows in Tokyo and Detroit.
Its sleek design utilises a lightweight carbon-fibre and aluminium body that ensures structural rigidity is maintained, even without a roof.

Styling of the LF-A Roadster draws extensively from the Lexus L-Finesse design philosophy and has been designed to deliver maximum aerodynamic efficiency.
The rear of the Roadster is marked by a pair of wrap-around, arrowhead-shaped taillights and a trio of centrally positioned exhausts.
To attain the best possible weight distribution, Lexus engineers positioned the radiators at the rear of the vehicle, which also allows for a sleeker front-end design.
The two rear-mounted radiators are fed cool air by two large intake ducts located forward of the rear wheel wells, and heated air is vented out behind the vehicle via a pair of large grilles.
The engine is mounted in a “front-mid” configuration – in front of the passenger compartment, but behind the front-axle centreline.

The engine is connected via a torque tube and propeller shaft to a transaxle that is controlled by paddle shifters. The torque tube is a structural member that adds rigidity to the drive train and chassis, while also reducing vibration.
The LF-A Roadster features wide high-performance tyres on turbine-styled alloy wheels.
The Melbourne International Motor Show is on at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 27 February to 9 March.

Finally, Lexus has published official images and initial details on its LF-Ch concept car that will eventually give birth to a premium hatchback model aimed at the BMW 1 Series and Audi A3. Unfortunately the Japanese firm's lengthy press release is dedicated for the most part to the LF-Ch's exterior and interior styling. In other words, the usual design mumbo-jumbo you hear from most automakers and which we'd rather avoid repeating.
With an overall length of 4,300mm (169.3-in.), a width of 1,790mm (70.5-in.) and a height of 1,400mm (55.1-in.)with a 2,600 mm (102.4-in.) wheelbase, the LF-Ch is roughly the same size as the Audi A3 Sportback (4,292mm in length, 1,765mm width, 1,423mm height and 2,578mm wheelbase).
The concept model features a full hybrid drivetrain meaning that unlike mild-hybrids, it can be driven in a fully electric EV mode. Lexus did not disclose any other details on the powertrain - or about anything else for that matter.

"The LF-Ch concept reaffirms Lexus's commitment to Europe, combining compact dimensions, stylish five-door, full hybrid technology and low emissions to satisfy the most demanding customer requirements and to appeal to a new, younger generation of customers," the company said in a prepared statement.
European buyers should expect to see a toned-down production version of the LF-Ch available with both conventional and hybrid powertrain options sometime towards the end of 2010.

The new automotive principle of downsizing in almost all aspects is more of a fad now than anything. Almost every respectable, bar some of course, is catching up with the trend so much so that even luxury marques like Aston Martin are said to be working on some sort of a compact car. The latest luxury brand to catch up with the trend is Lexus. We saw a rendering of what it could possibly look like and now we see another one, the official sketch of what a compact Lexus will look like.
The concept car will be shown to the public at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and promises to showcase the brand’s innovation in design and its technological advances. Lexus believes that it’s compact car will raise the bar in the premium compact segment which is currently dominated by cars like the Audi A3, BMW 1-Series, and the Mercedes-Benz A/B-Class.
As to what will power the Lexus compact car, according to our source, the compact could only employ hybrid technology through it’s entire range. It has emerged that Lexus patented the names CT200h, CT300h and CT400h in North America, only Lexus hybrid models are designated with the letter “h”. Till the Frankfurt Motor Show then, here’s hoping this compact turns out to be a beauty and a proper European rival.

Although SEMA show is still months away from now but Fox Marketing decided to tease us by releasing a rendering of their upcoming project car that will be based upon the new Lexus IS Convertible. Details are still sketchy as the only thing we know about the car is that it will feature an IS-F style bodykit and a twin turbo engine. It remains to be seen if the tuner will opt to turbocharge one of the existing 2.5 or 3.5-liter V6 units, or if they'll go all the way fitting the hardtop cabrio with the IS-F's 5.0-liter V8.
