Seems as if next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show is turning out to be a battle of the supercars. Ferrari is to show off it’s new 458 Italia, Mclaren will unveil it’s MP4-12C, Mercedes with it’s SLS AMG and now Lamborghini will officially take the covers off it’s long-rumoured Reventon Roadster.
The original Reventon coupe also made it’s debut in Frankfurt two years ago and like the coupe, the roadster will redefine style, elegance and of course, insanity. The Reventon was designed to be a stealth fighter for the road, and just like that the Roadster will take the same course but it will be hard to be stealthy in something that looks so good. The Reventon boasts jet-inspired carbon fiber body panels and aggressive 18-inch wheels. Inside its the same as the Reventon coupe with alcantara leather upholstery and carbon fiber trim.
Official details will be revealed next week but for now we know that the roadster will likely be powered by a 6.5-liter V12 with 650hp and 660Nm of torque. Using a six-speed e-gear transmission and standard all-wheel-drive, the Reventon will accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Max speed is believed to be somewhere in the region of 340km/h.
Production will likely be limited to just 20 units with prices starting at USD$1.75million.
