Renault today revealed the first teaser photograph of its new Megane Coupe-Cabriolet model that will break cover at the Geneva Motor Show on March 2, 2010 The only piece of information released by the French automaker is that the new Megane CC will keep its predecessor's foldaway glass top.The shady picture doesn't tell us much about the four-seater convertible's looks but expect to see similar styling cues to the rest of the new Megane's range.
here won't be any surprises under the hood as the engine lineup will be carried over from the hatchback and coupe models including the 1.6-liter 110HP, 2.0-liter 140hp and the turbocharged TCe 180HP petrol units.
The new CC, which will join the Megane hatchback, coupe and Sport Tourer models, will compete against other C-Segment hardtop convertibles like the Ford Focus CC and Volkswagen Eos.

Supercar lovers hoping for the Devon GTX would lead to a Dodge Viper revival may have had their dreams dashed. Chrysler's decision to kill off the Viper is forcing the niche automaker to eliminate their Viper-based GTX, according to published reports.Devon Motorworks has not officially confirmed the death of their supercar, possibly because the company wants to make one more attempt to purchase the Viper model from Chrysler.

The GTX would have used an 8.4-liter 650-horsepower V10-engine capable of delivering impressive speed to the supercar. During testing, the GTX unofficially crushed the lap time record at the Laguna Seca, posting a 1m 35.075s time. That is roughly 4.5 seconds faster than the Nissan GT-R.
Unveiled in August at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the GTX was supposed to go on sale this year. 36 units were expected to be produced annually.

Leave it to GM to take out all the fun even when it comes to re-badging its own vehicles... See, while the General took the decision to reveal a North American version of the Opel Insignia OPC in the form of the Buick Regal GS showcar in Detroit, unfortunately, the European model's 325HP 2.8-liter twin-scroll turbo V6 has been replaced with a lighter but more puny 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing an estimated 255HP.Officially, the Detroit automaker says that the Regal GS was designed "to explore the appeal of a high-performance variant of the Regal", but chances are that it will make it into production in the very near future.

"We designed the Regal GS to explore the appeal of a high-performance variant of the Regal," said Craig Bierley, product marketing director for Buick. "Like the Regal, the Regal GS is based on the award-winning Opel Insignia, and we believe it will reinvigorate Buick's storied Gran Sport legacy."
The Regal GS showcar uses a modified version of the 220HP 2.0-liter turbocharged four-pot that will be offered on Regal CXL models later this summer tuned to deliver greater boost pressure. The engine's output is estimated at 255 horsepower (190 kW) and 295 lb.-ft. of torque (400 Nm).
Furthermore, whereas the Regal CXL comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, the Regal GS's engine is linked to a six-speed manual gearbox that directs torque to an adaptive all-wheel-drive system.
As with its German counterpart, the GS is equipped with an electronic, limited-slip rear differential to reduce wheelspin.
General Motors says that the 255HP Buick Regal GS is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds, which sounds a bit optimistic considering the fact that the 325HP Opel Insignia OPC reaches 60mph in 5.8 seconds.
The Regal GS also benefits from a tuned four-wheel-independent suspension, a revised steering wheel system and a high-performance Brembo brake system with 14 x 1.2-inch (355 x 32 mm) cross-drilled rotors; four-piston, high-strength aluminum calipers, and high-performance pads.
There's also Opel's Interactive Drive Control System (IDCS) chassis technology that allows the driver to chose from three different operating modes (normal, sport and GS) for the suspension settings, throttle response and steering sensitivity.
Other than that, the Buick Regal GS gets the same tasty bodykit, sexy 20-inch alloy wheels and interior upgrades including a pair of Recaro front seats and flat-bottom steering wheel as its European counterpart.

Lee Noble, the founder of Noble Automotive, has released a series of renderings featuring his next supercar. The car will be produced by Noble's new company, Fenix Automotive, set-up within the two years following his departure from Noble Automotive.Renderings show an interesting front fascia and spoiler that bulges at the outer edges, making the front take on a convex appearance. A trapezoidal blacked-out honeycomb grille looks sporty, while the headlights and LEDs look almost menacing. Indicators appear to also be built into the sideview mirrors. The overhead view of the car shows a vehicle that will likely have limited cabin space. Although a two-seater, it looks like access will be provided to the rear through rearward opening "suicide" doors, making loading and unloading of gear a bit easier.

Purchasers of the as-yet unnamed car will get a choice of either the GM LS3 V8-engine, producing 480 horsepower, or the LS9 V8-engine from the Corvette ZR1. That engine bumps horsepower up to 638 hp. Using the bigger engine, the Fenix is expected to reach 100mph (160 km/h) in under seven seconds.
Keeping the vehicle's weight at 1,200 kilograms was key to reaching that ludicrous sprint time. A composite body helped weight remain low on the two-seater. Top speed on the car is 200 mph.
Pricing on the unnamed car will begin at £75,000. Sales could begin by the fourth quarter of 2010.

Vauxhall has released the first images of the redesigned 2011 Meriva (aka the Opel Meriva), ahead of its official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show.Featuring the same design language as the critically-acclaimed Insignia, the Meriva looks far more upscale than its predecessor. The advanced design is further highlighted by the addition of FlexDoors which were originally shown on the Meriva Concept in 2008. According to Vauxhall, the rear-hinged FlexDoors "swing open towards the back of the car at an angle of nearly 90 degrees, vastly improving the ease with which occupants enter and leave the cabin. Rather than having to step back, or to one side, as one would using a normal front-hinged door, the FlexDoor allows unimpeded forward access/egress to and from the cabin, enhanced further by the Meriva's exceptionally high roof line."

While Vauxhall didn't release any interior pictures, they stated the cabin will feature a FlexRail system which allows owners to choose from a variety of modular storage bins and other components. Elsewhere, the company also revised the FlexSpace system (fold-down rear seats which can slide forward and backwards to improve legroom or storage capacity) to be more intuitive to use.
Engine options will include six turbocharged units with power outputs ranging from 75 to 140PS. On average, the engines will have a 15% improvement in fuel efficiency and 25 g/km reduction in CO2 emissions. If that isn't green enough, the company will also introduce an ecoFLEX model.
